I Love Design (Part III) - When the 'Wall' Blocked My Way

And many more competitions in which I participated as student in Elementary School. Beside won some painting competitions, I also won the title as champion of national – written English test in grade 4 (which was probably my very lucky. Haha). Finally, I ended up my Elementary with satisfaction of non-academic achievements (my academic level was average). My final exam score was exactly small. And with this poor score, I might not have studied in any favorite - Junior High Schools in Denpasar. However, I still had two chances to get the favorite schools.

The first one, I got a chance to take the TPA test (a written test that was only held in several favorite schools) in SMPN 1 Denpasar. I got this chance as my academic-value was good and consistent since my first grade in Elementary School. Unfortunately, I had failed this test.

The second chance, I tried the ‘Achievement Test’ in SMPN 1 Denpasar again. And I failed again.

After that, I started felt despair. However, my parent still supported me. My father said, “This is not the end. When you are in the valley (collapsed condition), try to look around you. Remember, the valley always have limit, the boundary between the valley (failure) and hill (glory), and there is always a way to achieve it. Find that way!”

Right, there was still one more chance to get the favorite – Junior High School. There was opened a achievement test – entering in SMPN 8 Denpasar. I applied, and took the painting test there. “Thank God”, I had passed the test, and I was able to study there.

Dear friends, difficult time (period) always exists. To get out faster of that condition, you have to find out and use the hidden good side in that difficult time.

I Love Design (Part II) - Learning

In my first painting competition, I got a lot of trouble. Of course, since this was the first time I attend the competition. I was nervous to face my opponents. I also could not do my best because of limited time to do the paint. Given two hours to do paint should be maximized by every competitor. Since I am not used to painting with such a short time, as a result, my painting was very bad. I was disappointed because I cannot give the best for my school. I also feel sad for failing to obtain championship.

A week later, I was invited to attend another painting contest. I came again. From the previous experience I learned a lot about painting competition. This time, I am sure I can do better than before. Sure enough, I was trying to stay calm, and was able to accommodate my work processing time. As a result, better than the last, I’m happy. But it wasn’t good enough to win the first grade. Not a problem. I am grateful for being on sixth grade.

There was an increase, and I’m glad. Then I began to feel challenged to continue to practice and develop my skill. Because I know the competition will be more though later. The opponents also will grow up and increase their creativity over the time.

Dear friends, doing something interesting which is your hobby are very enjoyable. Moreover, your hobby can make you win award. That would be unforgotten moment in your life. You can do it. Discover your own potential, if you have found what your pleasure, continue to explore that potential. Don’t be afraid to fail, because there’s no success without failure. Also, don’t be too easily satisfied for what you are doing. Remember, science has no limits if you continue to learn, and the ability has no limit s if it continues to be trained.

I Love Design (Part I) - The Beginning

 Om Swastyastu,

Sorry, long time no post in blog. It was just about 2 weeks. Yeah, it was because since two weeks ago I was flooded with tasks, whether the tasks of the campus, and my duties as a student designer :P

Oh, yeah, I have not introduced myself that I am a designer. I am not professional yet, but I have a desire to be professional. Being professional is sometimes not easy. Because many things must be considered and implemented, right, and quickly, without leaving anything that aren’t desirable for what is done. Yes, I’ve always liked and felt challenged to do things that I like to perfect as possible.

Since I was child I like to draw. There is no talent derived from both my parents. I learned to draw by myself. At first, I just tried to draw a characters-animated cartoon like shown on television. After that, I started to feel the beauty of graphic arts. I tried to draw each character-animated cartoon that shown in television as likely as possible. Indeed, once the time I was kid, a lot of interesting cartoon that shown on TV, unlike the present. upss.

When I was in elementary school, I used to draw in class when the teacher was teaching. Quite often I was not listening to the teacher’s explanations, then, I got the punishment by the teacher. Haha. It was really embarrassing.

Then, I became famous in class because my ability. Yes, I can draw well. I felt so proud in that time. But, I cannot do coloring as good as drawing. And one day, I saw my friend can color her draw beautifully. I was jealous, and I want to be good as her in coloring. Then, I saw her techniques in coloring. From there, I was able to imitate her coloring-style. After practicing regularly, I got used to color my draw and began to find my distinctive style of painting. Until my drawing teacher was amazed with the results of my works, then I was invited to attend painting competitions.

What Can I Do to Make You Believe Me?

 Om Swastyastu,

We are live adjoining with the others. This is in accordance with our nature as social beings. Life requires us to work together with others. However, in any partnership, sometimes the conflict may came, one of them may because of no believe in each other.

Believable required not only in partnership, but also in other things in life. Such as, when we start a friend relationship, build a love, work, and more.

Our beliefs about others can come by itself without the need we seek. However, to get the people’s trust, sometimes required an effort to achieve it. What are them?

 1. Prove it with real results.
Sometimes we want others to believe that we can do something. But unfortunately we can only say without doing anything. Someone would believe if she/he had seen the evidence. Therefore make something real to make she/he believes in you.
If you want to be trusted as a friend then make something that makes her/him believe that you are the best friend that he was looking for.

 2. Do not hasty to make people believe in us.
Remember, the beliefs is not made, but born. Because of that, it’s normal if the people’s believe come in long time. It needs to pass some process so the people can believe us. Of course, we must keep trying and don’t force that.

 3. Trust others.
If you want to be trusted by others then you also have to believe them. Give and receive. This is the best we can do.

 4. Never betray the other’s trust.
We must keep the people’s believe when they already put their trust in us. Don’t betray them. Because, if we betrayed them, will be difficult for us to get back their trust.

The most important of all is to keep our credibility, and keep the trust of others to us.

I Used to Solve My Problems by These Ways

  Om Swastyastu,

As I promise to tell you about the secret of solving problems of life, well, I will share it now. You will learn about how to control your emotion, be more patient, and then, you will be able to think longer about the chance to solve what problems you are fighting now. I will give you the illustration first. Then you can try it, or just learn and understanding, it’s all up to you.

Now, imagine yourself that you are triggering a problem. You feel not good. You are in a plight, bad mood, and won’t care anyone or anything around you. You are in a very big problem...

Now think, what will you do? Or, what usually you do if you face this condition? ....

Then think, is it work? I mean, do your way can make you feel relax, joy, and happy? If yes, then, you are a good-controlling emotion person. If no, you must learn more about controlling ego. Because, the success parameter of solving problems are depend on your way of controlling ego and emotion. I will show you the best way (I think) to control this and solve the problems.

 1. Take up a glass/cup which is fulfilled by water. Hold it like shown in the picture below.

What do you feel? Nothing? Well, hold it longer. Hold it for 5 minutes...
Getting tired? No? Alright, hold it for 10 minutes...
Now, you must be tired, right? If no, you may hold it for 30 or 60 minutes...

The meaning is: the problem is analogized by the cup of water that you are hold. It doesn’t make sense at the first. But, it’s getting heavier every minute you hold it. For 5 minutes, you start feel numb. 10 minutes later, you’ll feel heavy numb. Then, 15 minutes you hold it, you’ll get tired. Finally, 30 minutes later, you’ll feel so painful and cannot take it much longer.

It’s the same as when you are in a problem. You hold it alone, and getting tired every minute. Until, you get frustrated, you can’t take it anymore. Then, what should you do? Yes, take a break for a little time.

2.  Put the cup on the table or anywhere, just don’t hold it for several minutes. Take a break and relax. Do not think about your problem, just free your mind. By this way, you’ll downgrade your frustrate condition caused by the problem. Maybe, 5 or 10 minutes later, you’ll feel no tired again. Now, think how to solve the problem. After that, you should be ready to take the cup (problem) again. Taking and putting the cup like this will make you used and won’t make you give up when facing and solving the problem.

3.  If the problem still hard to solve by yourself, then, take another cup (empty cup). Pour a little of water to the empty cup. This will make the cup that you are hold getting lighter than before, because the water in it was decreased. Take another empty cup again. Pour a half of water in your cup that you’re holding into the empty one. Now, it will be easier to hold, right?

This is what I called “sharing”. You share your problem with another person. The more you shared, the more you will get lighter of holding a problem. So, share your problem as much as you can to your family, your best friends, or your teachers. And think together how to solve that. Remember, together we are invincible!

4.  And don’t forget to pray, because everything is already organized by the Almighty.

That’s all my way to fight the problems. Do you want to try? :)

(Late) Introduction

 printf(“Hi World!”);

Sorry for this late introduction (about myself). I’ve just completed this lately. Well, I got a lot of business and tasks last week, and I got crowded by them, at last a little bit frustrated. Okay, forget that. I can do anything (I can), but I can’t do everything (at the same time). So, this time, let me introduce myself to you.

The general part of me
My name is I Wayan Safira Sri Artha. You can call me Yayan or Safira or Artha, whatever you want. I was born on August 21st 1994 in Denpasar. My hobby is painting, designing, playing anything, and reading books. I like arts so much, especially modern arts. When I have any spare times, I love to do paint or drawing anime and manga or designing on computer. But, I prefer to do digital designing in my computer, because it’s interesting. I started doing this from I was child. And now, I’ve created many artworks. You can see my artworks later only at www.hallofinspirations.blogspot.com.

My School
See that my first sentence in this post is written in C language of programming. So, I think you’ve already guessed my school. Yes, I am a student at Computer Science Department at Udayana University, Bali. Udayana University is located at Badung regency, about 25 kilometers far from Denpasar. I live at Batubulan village. It’s located at Gianyar regency, for about 6 kilometers to Denpasar. Daily I go and back home straightly. I take no rent room for boarding or kost. So, you can feel how long the trip from my house to my college, and also how much time I have to spend every day at the road. Oh, I couldn’t forget to say this, the traffic jam at the way I go college and back to home are so terrific! And that always happens every day. A complete article about my school I will post later, so be patient. :P

Why I Wrote the Difference
Have you already read my posts in this blog? Yes? You know I school at the Computer Science Department? But you also know that I have written nothing that had relation of computer or technologies in this blog, isn’t it? I even wrote about people’s life, it’s so different with my hobby and my education. Do you wonder why I write the difference?
The fact is I love all about arts, technologies, and life. Because, life is the most important, so I just want to share it firstly. Perhaps I will share about arts and technologies later in this blog. Keep your eyes! :P

My hopes
I want to learn more about this life, arts, and technologies. I was able to do digital designing, and I now study for programming. I hope I can combine both the digital art and programming technique. So, maybe I can learn about graphic animations by combining them both. Wish me luck (y)

The Sorrow

Om Swastyastu,

Hello all, I have just experienced an unpleasant thing in my life. Previously, I’m so sorry for sharing this sad story to you all. But, I think it’s important to share this to you. ‘Cause this true story was full of positive moral value that can inspire you. Hope can be useful in your life.

If you ask me a question like this: “Do you have a best friend?” I would say, “Yes I am”. And I believe every one of you have a best friend and say the same as I said. Moreover, some of you have more than one best friend, right? Of course, yes. But, when you ask me, “Do you have a REAL best friend? (Not a fake best friend. A real best friend always stands beside/there for you. Help you much. And will not ask you to help him/her back). Then I would say loudly, “Yessss, I aaammm”.

That words will you hear from me if you ask me a week ago. Don’t wonder how I can say this. I mean, a week ago I still have him as my ‘best of the best friend ever’. But now, there’s no more. He had gone. He leaved me behind forever. And he left a deep sorrow in my heart.

That was Wednesday, November 21st 2012, a tragic accident hit him. When he and his friend (my friend too) went to the college (for having study and some presentations about his project), at their way, about at 8 am, that shocking accident happened. He had brought to the hospital for about thirty minutes after the accident. And at 11 am, became his last breath.

You know, He is a kind person. If you’re his friend, you’ll greeted by his sweet smile every time you meet him. And you’ll always be helped as he always offer you any helps if you need. Okay, you’ll not feel how much kind he is. But, me, as his friend, I can’t forget all the kindness that he ever brought to me. And I know all of his friend would feel the same as me. Everyone knew he is a very good person, and everyone would proud of being his friend.

But, I just realize it now. Since he’s gone, I can’t stop blame myself. When he’s still alive, I always did not care to him as he is care to me. His last request to me is that he asked me for a PC game, called Yugioh Card Game, but I did not gave it to him (the fact is I didn’t have that game). But, if I knew his life will no longer, I would give all I can give to him. Oh I can’t stop crying if I remember this.

And the Ngaben Ceremony was held on Saturday. Everyone will miss him. He was like an angel that God gave into my life. He teaches me the kindness, responsibility, and sacrifice. He couldn’t succeed in reaching his dreams yet, but he was very succeed in making people’s remember him as a kind person.

Dear friends, this life is full of surprises. There’s lot of surprises that we don’t supposed to be, that can make us happy, confused, amazed, stopped of doing activities, or even make us cried. That surprises sometimes make us think that our life is very lucky, or it can make us think that this life is very unfair. All that happiness, amazedness, and sadness, I said those as the “Colors of Life”.

All is already arranged by the Almighty. The things that He is willing to happen, will happened. That’s why He called the Almighty.  We can’t avoid this fact.

Life is a gift from God. Death is a thing that we couldn’t avoid. God arranged our life and our death.

From his experience, I can take the lessons that in this life, we must be kind to all people, although they can’t be kind to us. Always help everyone, although they don’t need your help. Always being tolerance to everyone. Don’t waste your friend’s kindness.

 The last words:

Rest in Peace, I Wayan Getas Tegehkuri. I will always remember your kindness. Thank you so much. Good bye…
